The Moment Before the Confetti

Straight into the confetti? Wait.

You've just walked back down the aisle. Someone ushers you into a quiet side room, while everyone else files outside and lines up with their confetti. For a few minutes, it's just the two of you.

It's the first moment you'll have alone as a married couple, and quite possibly the last until tomorrow.

Let it land. Laugh about the bit where the ring wouldn't go on. Breathe out. Look at each other properly, because any minute now, someone will knock and say they're ready for you.

And me? I'll hang back. Far back. A long lens, a quiet corner, no direction whatsoever. You'll barely know I'm there, and you'll have pictures of a moment you'd otherwise only remember. Or I'll disappear completely, if you'd rather.

Your call.

Here's the trick. Don't rush it. Ask your registrar or coordinator to give you a proper few minutes before calling you out. Nobody outside will mind. They'll be busy agreeing how well that went.

Then the doors open, the confetti flies, and you walk out into it calm, a little glowy, and very much married.

Off the Record: The MOMENT BEFORE THE CONFETTI

Off the Record: The MOMENT BEFORE THE CONFETTI

I'm not the loudest wedding photographer in London, and I like it that way. My couples tend to find me the way you find the best table in town: quietly, from someone who's been.

So consider this your whisper. If you want your day documented honestly, beautifully and with a little edge, let's talk. Just keep it between us.
