LUCY & TOM's WEDDING AT

Lucy got ready for her big day in the most comforting place imaginable - her mum’s house - surrounded by love, laughter, and a strong cup of tea or two. Meanwhile, Tom and his groomsmen were holding court at The Duke of Wellington, Spitalfields Market, raising pints of Guinness and going over the order of the day.

Once Lucy was in that dress and Tom was suitably fortified, they decided to do things a little differently. Instead of a traditional limo escort, they walked through the City of London - winding through cobbled streets, iconic architecture, and buzzing pubs - until they reached the boat by the Tower of London. There, their guests piled on, and off they sailed into the heart of East London.

Spitalfields Market is a dream for wedding photos: iconic brick arches, vibrant stalls, and that unmistakable London energy. It’s where historic charm meets modern city buzz, giving you texture, colour, and character in every frame. Perfect for couples who want photos that feel stylish, urban, and effortlessly authentic.

WEDDING RECEPTION AT

Their river voyage took them to Trinity Buoy Wharf, a place that feels like London’s coolest secret. As the sun dipped low, the speeches came - heartfelt, raw, emotional - delivered outside in that gorgeous golden hour glow. Then they moved indoors into the Chainstore (the main function room at Trinity Buoy Wharf), and honestly, in my two decades of wedding photography, I’ve very rarely seen a party quite like it. There was dancing, laughter, joy - and at 1:00am, they did the most epic sparkler exit, leaving everyone glowing (literally) and buzzing.

It was perfect.

Why Trinity Buoy Wharf Is the Venue of the Moment

If you’re picturing structure and charm wrapped in creative cool - Trinity Buoy Wharf is it. Built on the Thames in East London, this place was once a working buoy-manufacturing site for Trinity House, and it’s brimming with history. The Grade II listed Chainstore (which doubled as Lucy & Tom’s party room) is a raw-brick warehouse space with triple-height ceilings, exposed beams, and that industrial-but-elegant feel that makes you want to dance.

There’s also London’s only lighthouse on-site - the Bow Creek Lighthouse, built back in the 1860s - which is just endlessly photogenic. Then you have the riverside terrace, which gives you stunning views over the Thames and Docklands - it’s ideal for a ceremony, speeches, drinks reception, or golden-hour photos.

Beyond the architecture, the venue is run by a creative trust that supports artists, designers, and makers - so the whole place feels alive, relevant, and deeply rooted in London’s culture. And of course, arriving by boat is not only an option - it’s one of the most joyful entrances you can dream up.

If you’re planning a London wedding and want something utterly unboring, Trinity Buoy Wharf is quite possibly the most inspired, creative, and unforgettable venue you could pick. It’s historic but not stuffy, riverside but tucked away, elegant but totally you.

If you’re dreaming of a wedding day that riffs off Lucy & Tom’s - with city walks, boat journeys, and a party that lasts ‘til 1am under sparklers - let’s chat. I’d love to bring your story to life (and make sure your photos don’t just document the day - they become the day).
