ORLEANS HOUSE GALLERY WEDDING VENUE - PERFECT FOR LAZY SUNNY AFTERNOONS BY THE THAMES

WHY WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHERS LOVE ORLEANS HOUSE GALLERY - CLUE, IT'S A GALLERY FILLED WITH BEAUTIFUL NATURAL LIGHT
With luck you'll have great weather and this is where Orleans House Gallery really shines. Set in its own mini-woodland with a large lawn it's a great place to soak up the afternoon Sun while also soaking up a cocktail or two. When it comes to "portrait" time I love to take my clients away from the crowd for 10 minutes to walk alongside the River Thames. This is also an opportunity for them to start taking it all in as everything will have rushed by in a flash. If possible I would recommend timing your ceremony and reception for two hours before Sunset - it's called Golden Hour for a reason!
My first visit to Orleans House Gallery on the Richmond/Twickenham riverside to photograph a wedding was way back at the dawn of digital wedding photography, 2015 to be precise. Wedding ceremonies take place in the Octagon Room, formerly part of Orleans House - demolished in 1926 to make way for a quarry. Go figure! As the Octagon Room was originally designed as an art gallery it has almost floor to ceiling windows that - at the right time of day - let in an abundance of natural light, a wedding photographers dream.
